I am currently a rising sophomore, and can you please predict my chances of entering Harvard and other IVY leagues? I am hoping on doing biomedical engineering or stuff biology / chemistry related
GRADES: I’m at an IB school currently so the grading system is different
Math: 7/7
Science: 7/7
History: 7/7
Art: 7/7
French: 7/7
English: 7/7
P.E.: 7/7
- I had a perfect GPA for both semesters
APs: I have self studied a few AP exams and I am planning on taking more next year.
AP Calculus BC - 5
AP Comp Gov - 5
AP Environmental Science - 4
ECs:
Student Council

ECs I’ll create next year:
MIT Launch
Robotics Club
Biology club
Sports I do outside of school
Tennis
Squash
- Could you guys please tell me if I'm doing too little, enough, or too much and how I should improve? Also can you guys tell me some safety schools, schools for my current level, and schools I should aim to reach?
THANKS!
Come back when you roughly have an idea of your actual IB predicted grades. I can say that my grades changed drastically when i entered IB. As for your ECs, i think you have a good starting place. Try to branch out into larger ECs that relate to your intended major (like maybe nat. science fair?).
You definitely got a great foundation here. Keep it up!
Also, if you have the time, chance me!
Far too early to tell. On the right track, but your ECs don’t reflect any specific passion. You say you want to go into biology and chemistry. Pursue those in your ECs. Right now you are very standard in what you do. Colleges see thousands of apps with kids that do “math competition, MUN, student council, and play instruments.” What sets you apart? Thankfully, you have 2 years left to propel yourself in what you love to do, so hopefully you can turn that into college success.
Hey~ !
Thanks for the reply.
My school is in Paris, so we don’t have any competitions based ECs. RSI isn’t available to France, and teachers have this mindset that lunch time and after school is for playing, not doing clubs.
Can you recommend me some other international activities I can do that shows my interest towards medicine/bio/Chem?
Thanks
