Nothing too spectacular…but there is stuff I haven’t mentioned…Oh well, I’ll hope for the best!

any advice/incite would be greatly appreciated

My insight is that it looks like a competitive group of statistics, and my question is what you expect to do in your life after high school and college?

Good luck in your applications next year.

incite --> insight :P

Your hook point sounds great and will definitely cut it for schools like Caltech/MIT. Harvard is pretty picky about class rank though. Best of luck---don't forget to apply to schools like Hopkins, Duke, Wustl (assuming you're going into biomed).

haha sorry Arch3r25...its been a long week. Pick about class rank as in.. i have to be a valedictorian? and top 5 is good enough? Oh i'm definitely applying to the likes of Hopkins and Duke and whatnot however horror stories about "grade inflation" affecting medschool admissions. Im not looking for Caltech/MIT. While great schools, the atmosphere/school itself is not quite my cup of tea.

Picky...and isn't

Quoting this from a magazine article I read the other day from awhile ago:

"The perfect Harvard applicant must possess myriad traits that would, to the untrained eye, appear to be polar opposites. They must be at once intellectual and down-to-earth, confident and humble, outgoing and reclusive, athletic and artistic, literary and scientific.
They must be, simultaneously, a bold leader and an easygoing follower. They must consume gossip mags and classic novels with equal ferocity. They must enjoy spending countless hours holed up in the library -- if and only if they spend the same number of hours at a sweaty dorm party afterward in order to forget what they studied."

I really like that quote. Are you trying to tell me something? haha
What is your personal opinion in_technicolor

I'll give you some hints if you don't want to be rejected.

Do not write your whole essay on your mission trips... lol
Do not write your whole essay on your hospital volunteering lol

Haha :) Me too!

Your stats remind me of mine, in a sense. But everyone applying to Harvard has around good stats- whether it's their GPA or test scores, or both, or extra curriculars. I think the most important part is character. You have to have passion for something, and you have to be a good person. You have to be both hard-working, and fun, strict, and easygoing, opinionated, but yet a listener. Everyone seems to post their stats, activities, etc. And everyone's stats are so different, but good nonetheless. It is difficult to compare a person when no one is the identical. So when people ask to get "chanced," I would just have to say there is no way to tell. In my eyes, you seem like the perfect applicant; at least competitive. But what is the perfect applicant, really? I would have to go by the quote I posted previously, amongst a few other things.

Mal77: i would NEVER do that...ive done my hw on college essays...i'll probably wright about my burning desire for...ULTIMATE FRISBEE...god its amazing
or my independent research which is amazing and i love it

write*...holy bajeezus that SAT sucked the brains outta me

?!?! What makes you think I ignored it haha. Chillax broha.

collegehopeful, i <3 ultimate frisbee too, its the greatest game ever. i discovered it a couple years ago and have played all the time since then

YESSSS ULTIMATE FRISBEE!!! cant wait to play in college. harvard has a beast team (#10 i believe) but i doubt ill get accepted. Thats pretty much the second thing i look for in a college...a solid club/intramural teaM!
