chances at hopkins, brown, GW, maryland..

<p>hi, i am new to the forum and with what i've done in high school for the past 4 years leaves me a little confused with where i should apply. i hope you guys can help me out a bit.</p>

<p>black female in a single parent household
1940 SAT, (low because i tried to guess which section was experimental) plan to take again in october with a possible high 2000- low 2100

taking sat II's in november...Spanish and US History</p>

<p>I think you have pretty good chances at your match schools, but you can never tell with the ivies and hopkins. Though your job situation will help, your GPA is kinda low. Hope this helps, but don't rely too much on my oponion.</p>

<p>Your GPA is lower than the average of Brown and JHU admits, even those who are black.
A piece of advice: take the full SAT, no matter what happens; you should never guess what sections are not counted and which are. It sounds like you cost yourself more than 150 points in doing so.</p>

<p>If you want to get the legacy advantage at Brown, you need to apply ED. Get that math score up, write a good essay, and there's not much more you can do. Apply to Michigan RIGHT NOW if you haven't already- they admit on a rolling basis, and it's first come first served.</p>
