What are my chances? THANKS

Hey, arthur568, we have almost identical scores dude.
And I am applying to MIT, Caltech EA as well.
I wanna say we both have a great chance, but what we are facing is a competitive pool. Since most people get excellent scores and many awards, essays and recs are crucial. Post more about your essay topics and thoughts; I will post mine.

thanks shanghaiwes, well... for essays, i wrote about my love for music and my experiences as a foreigner when i first came here. My english teacher really liked them (she's been helping ppl with college essays for like 30 years) and she also wrote my recs. So i'm assuming that my essays were good and the recs will be good cuz she knows me really well. she teaches 9th honor english and AP, so i have her again this year.

No problem at all.
Love for music is pretty general; are you writing about an incidence or a specific, prolonged event? Make it good and tight. But if your english teacher likes it, then it should be good to go.
But MIT also offers two optional essays; I think you should write them and let your eng. teacher revise them. "Optional" means "write it if you're smart..." it's sad, but it's the truth for Ivies.

...it's the truth for ivies and other top colleges (MIT, caltech, etc.)

uhhh....i already submitted my apps...lol

oh and the love for music essay was one of the shorter responses. it was very concise but detailed at the same time. I also tied in symbols from books i've read recently. so..it's good.

did you write the optional ones though? they're pretty important if they're good.

nope, englsih teacher said i didn't have to...lol
let's not go there now...makes me feel bad

so what are my chances for...

azneverfrost, you're wrong. You know what's the probibility of getting rejected/accepted by ALL of them? With his stats, the probability is extremely small for that to happen. That will definitely be surprising!
