Chances at; MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford, Caltech and Princeton?

Hey guys, I am an international white student. I finished the freshman year and this year I am going to be a sophomore. I am wondering, if I did the all of the stuff at the list, can I got accepted from those universities at the title?

Info about me: White, Male, Sophomore at Science High School at Turkey, International student. Took a practice Toefl Test and scored 83/120. Took a SAT II Chemistry practice test and scored 720/800. (Never studied those tests). I already know Turkish and I started to learn Spanish. I played in school footbal and basketball team and I have some medals. I have got an medal from a photography contest too. I have got 97,52/100 GPA (3,9/4) (second at school) We dont have honor classes or stuff like that. So this list is my plan for applying Top tier and Ivy Universities:

Take at least 3 AP tests (including Calculus's)

Take 7 SAT II Tests (Math I, II, Chemistry, Physics, World History, English Literature, Spanish with Listening)

+2100 SAT Score

+105 TOEFL Score

3 Languages (English, Turkish, Spanish)

Study Chemistry olympiad and Join in the International Robotics Challanges

Open a gallery (charcoal drawing) at school or a gallery

Start and be an chief editor in School newspaper

Open 1 or 2 clubs in school (3D Printer and Math Club)

I also have a swimming license

spend +200 hours at voluntary work. (helping poor families)

I also playing classical and acoustic guitar (what can i do about it for applying)

Take reference letters from my math and science teachers and from my counselor

Internship (tech and science)

Take a summer program at an American University

Be an class president and school union delegate for 2 years

Is that enough? What can I do more about applying Ivy schools and MIT? Please help me! Thanks!

Don’t just assume. It says on top that you just started Spanish. Does not mean that you are trilingual. It also states that your practice TOEFL test was a 83 so do not assume you will get a 105.

I can work hard and get 105 at TOEFL. I’m just wondering, if I do all this stuff, have I got a chance to get into these universities…

You look like a strong candidate… If possible I would add a few more AP tests, but then again, your school might not offer a ton. The main thing to remember is that these schools are reaches for everyone, so just having the numbers isn’t always enough. It is also hard to chance you without any grades past your freshman year. But so far, looking good. Best of luck and keep up the good work!

Can you afford paying full tuition to these schools. Honestly, your sat score is low for these schools , your ECs are not spectacular, your an international, and these schools are super selective. I do not think you will get into any of these.

If I work hard, I think I can do +2250 at SAT…
Can you give me some advices about EC’s… I don’t know what to do.

All of your hopes are based upon what might happen in the future. Nobody should chance you without actual scores. You should ask again when you have something concrete to report. In the interim:

• Getting into these schools is like winning the lottery; nobody here can predict who will get in.
• Aim for 2250+ on the SAT’s
• Do not take 7 SAT subject tests; more is not better.
• Aim for 100+ on TOEFL
• If your family cannot afford the $240K to attend Berkeley, do not apply

Good luck.

Thanks, can you give some advice about extracirrucular activities and need blind aid schools. My family only can afford %30 - %40 of the 240K in 4 years. So i need financial aid too, but I believe I can do it with little help and lots of work. Thank you all!
