Chances at MIT, VT Carnegie Mellon, and Stanford

<p>I'm a white male from Lake Braddock Secondary School in Northern Virginia, and I'm applying to VT, Carnegie Mellon, MIT and Stanford. I'm also graduating a year early from high school. </p>

4.33 (weighted)
3.9ish(not sure)</p>

<p>SAT: 2270
CR: 740
M: 770
W: 760</p>

<p>SAT 2:
CHEM: 770
MATH2: About to take it, I expect close to 800</p>

<p>Senior Class Schedule:
BC Calculus
AP Chemistry
HN Physics
AP US History
AP Government
AP English 11
English 12 (online, finishing up the credits needed to graduate)</p>

<p>AP tests taken:
Latin: 4 (skipped 2 years of latin, went straight from latin 2 to 5(AP))
World History: 4
Psychology: 5 (self study in 9th grade)</p>

<p>Awards (just the big ones):
1st place in chemistry at regional science fair 2009
1st place energy and transportation at regional science fair 2010, grand prize nominee
1st place energy and transportation at state science fair 2010
National Latin exams (1,2, and 5) all gold medals</p>

<p>Internship:
This past summer I interned at the Army Geospatial center, where I was allowed to continue my research with dye-sensitized-solar cells (project i won the state science fair with)</p>

<p>Hobbies:
Guitar (classical, blues and rock)
Piano
Composing music
building audio related electronics (guitar pedals, noise maker things...)
Tae Kwon Do (been doing it since I was 6)
Reading (kinda a stupid thing to put down, but Im a huge fan of Dune)</p>

<p>Service Stuff:
-I collected money and ran a half marathon for St. Jude Children's hospital, and plan to do it again this december
-Ive participated in st jude fundraisers at my school
-I donate blood (cannot tell you how much I hate needles, big deal for me)
-Help feed the homeless with my ex girlfriend at a christmas sort of even each winter
-this is just what I can think of off the top of my head</p>

<p>good stats!! do you have any leadership positions in clubs or organizations? and what about sports? colleges like to see that you’ve done well in classes and on tests, but it’s also important to show that you’re a leader and that you have special traits that set you apart from everyone else. and if you want to get into MIT, you can’t expect close to an 800 on the SAT II: Math II. You need an 800.</p>

<p>what do you think they’ll think about the graduating early part?</p>

<p>My son is graduating a year early, too. We went to a MIT/Yale presentation the other day and the MIT guy said no problem, several early h.s. graduates get accepted every year.</p>
