Chances at Northeastern?

Just curious what you think my chances are, and if I could get any merit-aid, also, will applying EA increase the amount of need-aid I get or give me better housing?

Brought Physics from a "B" to an "A" from 1st to 2nd semester, and brought Precalc from a "C" to a "B" from 1st to 2nd semester, so, rising GPA...

Ben

Just found my rank out, as of the end of Junior year.

65/592 (Top 10.9%)

Just to let you know.. being a camp counselor is not under community service, that goes under your working experience... and neither is helping your school's debate team. And lasty, you said that your grades rose from 1st to 2nd semester... colleges only see your final grades and therefore will not know if what you started out increased or decreased.

jenlynn some schools (mine) are on a semester system so colleges do see both semesters -- they both appear on the transcript.

maaan, a 4.0 in my school would put u in top 20-25%. I just dont see how colleges can use rankings like this as a factor. (and yes im on a 4.0 scale) my first decile goes from 4.3-4.5 because all these kids are raking in A+'s on like 4 AP's each year and are getting 5's too...Im glad my school is tough but jeeze its hard to be competative

Yeah, my school is only competitive in the top 75 or so, and our rankings are weighted. Jenlynn, I guess you don't understand, I VOLUNTEERED as a camp counselor, I didn't get PAID MONEY. Also, helping THE MIDDLE SCHOOL DEBATE TEAM as a mentor is VOLUNTEER WORK, since it's not MY SCHOOL. Finally, my school, as eireann said, reports both semesters, jeez.

Lol, any real opinions?

You don't have to get all spaztic with your "jeeez", did you ever hear of the word, oh whats that called... oh yeah, MISUNDERSTANDING. I am sorry I am not as perfect as you and I was just trying to be of aid :).

It was meant to be sarcastic, I apologize, sarcasm does not translate well over the internet. I know you meant well, and I appreciate any input, again, sorry about the misunderstanding on both sides. :)

~Ben

Haha its okay and you're right about your comment sarcasm over the internet. But anyway yeah I am interested in NEU also, I just love boston. BU is my first choice and I'd be doing ED there adn I think I'd be fine, but NEU is cool also. I hope I get in, and I wish you look that you will get in too... your stats look like you'll get in.
