Chances at NYU, USC...

Hey there...First time posting here, and thought I'd try my hand to see what my chances are at NYU and USC. I know I'm really going on kind of a stretch with these schools and my stats, but here goes:

SAT I: 610/610 (1220 Total)
SAT II: Math Level I - 510/Spanish - 490/Writing - 630
Unweighted GPA: 3.545

Haven't been TOO involved, but am a leading member in the school's guitar club, poetry club, and am an anchor/editor for the morning news program. I've also done some volunteer work, and have had a lot of experience in the field I hope to study. I'm applying for Film/Television Production, and have been working part-time for Sony Pictures in Southern California. I also have close alumni affiliation with graduates from both schools, who have gone on to be quite successful (won't mention any names, but I'm not sure if the affiliation will make any difference or not).

I applied to NYU as an early decision candidiate, and now I'm questioning whether I'll get in, or want to get in there for that matter. Thanks in advance to everyone!

I think you are a reach for both schools, because that SAT score is too low.

my advice, apply ed II if you can, otherwise find a safety school.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what's ED II?

ed with a deadline in january

didnt you already apply to nyu as an early decision candidate? well if you applied to tisch and have a great portfolio or audition or whatever, then it isnt a stretch because tisch looks your talent at whatever youre trying out for and that is a huge factor
and for USC Im not too sure about but i can only see you working at sony pictures as a plus

but you are applying to safety schools right?

Yes, I also applied to some UC's (which may end up being more of a stretch than safety schools), Cal State Northridge, and am looking at other schools like LMU, San Diego State, and California Institute of the Arts. Any other suggestions in this realm would also be greatly appreciated.

I did apply as an Early Decision candidate already, and feel I do have a pretty strong portfolio. I made a 6-minute video specifically for NYU (the video isn't specifically about NYU, but I directed, produced, and edited it specifically for the NYU portfolio), and feel I have a strong essay and resume.

Thanks again!
