Hi! I’m still a HS sophomore but I really want to get into NYU and have some goals for what I want to accomplish by the end of HS and I was wondering if they would be enough to get into NYU:
GPA: 4.43 W
ACT: 33-36
SAT: 1550-1600
full IB diploma
EC’s:
- student council
- mock trial (founder & president)
- jsa (cabinet)
- activism club (president)
- hsda chapter (co-president, co-founder)
- jnhs (member)
- crossfitter
- local democrat party neighborhood leader
- youth advisory board for city (co-chair)
Work Experience:
- tutoring kids
- summer job at pool
- intern for local PAC
- coach
- babysitter
Awards:
- IB Diploma
- Nat’l Merit Scholar/Finalist
Note: I also want to get into GWU and AU!
As you are a soph, do you actually HAVE any test scores to make such assumptions? All of your numbers are guesses based on what? You haven’t even started the IBD, and you have no APs? Hopefully you sat the soph PSAT this fall so you will get a ballpark.
First bridge to cross, source your funding. The rest is fantasy at this point.
Test scores are based on Pre-ACT but are generally a guess. Took the PSAT so I will find out soon! My school doesn’t AP, only IB
Should have specified that the test scores are just hopes, all of this is just goals and want to see if I need to adjust as all 
A reminder to everyone reading or commenting on this thread: these are all GOALS! with the exception of my extracurriculars, the majority of these are goals, which I have not accomplished yet but am aiming for. These are not assumptions! They are just goals! I am only asking for input on where my goals look in terms of NYU admissions.
NYU is not known for their financial generosity. Since finances are a concern, I’d remove it from your list.
These are good GOALS…but don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Right now…you don’t have ANY of the above!
Did you take the PSAT this October as a 10th grader? See what those scores are.
You should be planning to get a great 11th grade PSAT score as well if you are aiming for NMSF status.
