Chances at Occidental

<p>With these statistics and accomplishments, do I have a good chance at being admitted to the Political Science/ Public Policy department at Occidental? Currently i am an incoming senior in high school with the ability to pay tuition at Occidental. </p>

<p>Grades/Testing
Weighted GPA: 3.9
Unweighted: 3.7
UC GPA: 4.1 (could change to a 4.25 with CST scores) UW UC GPA 3.89
SAT: Working towards 1800, got a lower score then expected the first time around
ACT: Working towards a pragmatic 28
IB Diploma Candiate with 7 weighted classes for senior year</p>

<p>Ec's/Accomplishments:
-President of Model UN Chapter
-President and founder of ESL Helpers club
-President and founder of Centrist League (A club dedicated to practical and pragmatic discussion about modern political and ethical issues)
-CSF member, hopefully NHS this year</p>

<p>ROTC cadet completed 3 years with strong standing</p>

<p>Computer Science intern at UCSD's Jacobs school of engineering (Looking at attaining a minor in Computer Science, and making a program with sociopolitical implications)</p>

<p>Working on creating a open source note website and open forums dedicated to help students with Math, Science, History, and Writing of AP/IB and Regular levels. </p>

<p>Tutor with KHAS in ROTC and tutor at the library</p>

<p>Personal Info:
First child to go to college
Lives 45 mins away from campus (I don't know if living in close proximity helps)
Asian Indian and foreign born</p>

<p>Even though standardized testing is not my forte, I still have a high IQ,ability to write and a strong work ethic, will a mediocre score on the ACT or SAT make a significant impact on my ability to be admitted?</p>

<p>What about UCSB or UCSD?
