Chances at Penn/Princeton/Haverford/Chicago

I am a senior this coming year. I am a Caucasian, and I come from England (if that matters). I have an older brother already in Penn.

GPA: 4.0
APs: US History 5, Calc AB 5, US Government 5, Macroeconomics 5, Stat 5, Psych 5
Honors: Biology, Physics, Algebra, Trig, US History I, World History I, 3 years of English
Senior workload: AP Physics, AP English Language, AP German, AP Calc BC, and other various courses.
Class rank: Somewhere in the top 1-3 out of about 150.

SAT: 2360
800 Math, 760 CR, 800 Writing

SAT II:
US History 720, registered for Math II

Registered for the ACT

ECs:
This is a weak area for me. I have done 3 sports for 4 years each, I am doing the world language club this year. I had a job this summer painting houses. I have 300+ community service hours as a childcare provider, math tutor, sound technician at my church, and through a missions trip to New Orleans in 2009.

Awards:
NHS, Rensselaer Medal for Math/Science

I am not even sure what my safety/reach/match schools are, but I would like to know how my chances would be if, say, I applied early decision/action to Penn or Princeton.

Thank you.

I forgot to add that I have done Chemistry as an honors course, as well as a few honors Computer Science courses.

Your SAT score and GPA are definitely good enough, however you need to improve your ECs, try going for leadership roles and higher level events, best of luck!

Do leadership positions need to be done through the school? I have a few “leadership” positions through my volunteering, and my school is fairly limited with the number of clubs that you can join, unfortunately.

If they are through major organizations then they don’t have to be through school, however what about running for a spot in NHS?

How do you mean?

I think you have great chances for upenn, harvard, princeton, and chicago. You have an excellent gpa and sat scores so I don’t see why you wouldn’t get accepted. Just make sure you have an amazing essay!

Chance me on cornell university??

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1378322-what-my-chances-cornell.html</a></p>

Also, I have a few questions I would like to add/ask.

I want to do AP Enviro, but I was under the impression that colleges prefer to see AP Physics on a transcript. Is this correct?

I am going to be doing an internship at some point during the first semester of my senior year. If I am going in undeclared, what is a desirable internship or field to look into?

Thanks.

The best internship is one that interests you and gives you exposure to a workplace or activity that you otherwise wouldn’t have. It lets you observe other workers and see what they do (and how they do it). Ideally it allows you to take responsibility for a project of your own, not simply to function as cheap labor for the company.

Thank you.

Bump.

I think your ECs are ok, just a bit scattered. Everything else is solid though. And there’s really no reason for you to take the ACT.

Would there be any added benefit at all of taking them?

Also, if I apply to Wharton Early Decision and I am rejected, are my chances at Penn gone, or am I automatically considered ED for the College of Arts & Sciences?

Bump

Can I apply ED to Penn on top of EA to Princeton?
