Chances at Pitt Comp Sci?

-I am a rising senior at a top public school in connecticut
-UW GPA is a 3.15 (i know low)
- W GPA is a 3.45 (Also low)

-SAT - 590 CR, 670 M , 550 Writing - 1260 CR + M, 1810 total

-I have been doing gentle computer coaching at local senior center since 8th grade 1 hour a week
-Lifeguard since october of 2013
-Captain of swim team
-Tennis for 4 years
-Founder/Leader of Bowling Club
-Attended intensive leadership camp this summer run by reputable organization - they also write good college recs
-working for 2 weeks this summer at a "Brain Camp" where students learn about the brain on computers

-I would like to major in Computer Science and Minor in Neuroscience

Next year ap's include Ap Physics, AP CS, AP Calc AB

-I plan on retaking the SAT in october and taking the act in september which i think will be relatively better than my sat due to the science section

-I wont be applying for financial aid(if that matters)

-I am a white male

Any response would be greatly appreciated. I know my gpa is low which brings up another question. Should i apply after my first semester senior year so my gpa increases or should i apply after my october sat results come in? I also am on there select application program if that makes a difference.

Thanks for your time!

Just to give you some perspective, here are last year’s stats:

average GPA (weighted): 3.97
25th percentile SAT: 1180 (580 CR, 600 M)
75th percentile SAT: 1360 (670 CR, 690 M)

only 33% of accepted students had a CR SAT between 500-599

Being from connecticut helps- it’s a less represented state. The white male part doesn’t help at all (Pitt is predominantly white).

If you can improve either the GPA or the SAT/ACT, one of those needs to be better. Right now both of them being so low doesn’t really help you. I would definitely try to retake the test and get better scores before applying. Since you are not applying for aid, it shouldn’t matter too much whether you apply in September or November.
