Chances at pitt main or duquesne?

Weighted GPA: 3.9
Unweighted GPA: Around 3.7

I did not take the actual SAT but soon will be. My PSATs were a combined total of 1530, which I realize is very bad. I'm assuming I will improve a bit when I take the SATs so assuming that I improve that score a little, will I be able to get into the above schools?

Extracurriculars: Spanish Club, Red Cross, Special Olympics, Yearbook, Photography Club, Math League, Volunteer at assisted living home, National Society of High School Scholars.

Honors/ AP Courses in High School:
Honors Geometry
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Trig./Pre-Calc.
Honors Anatomy
Honors Spanish 4
AP Calculus AB
AP English Language
AP English Literature
CHS Statistics (In accordance with Pitt)

In addition, I am going to take the ACT and also take the SAT (obviously) at least two times. I will write a personal essay and get letters of rec.

Also, I heard that if you don't get into the college right away, they will sometimes request mid year grades or allow you to later reapply again the same year. Im especially wondering about this for Pitt because I might have some difficulty getting in. Does anyone know if Pitt often will request mid year senior grades if your an in between case?

So taking into account an approx. of my SATs, GPA, course rigor, and extracurriculars what are my chances of getting into the above schools? Thanks for your time! Also I'm applying to Pitts school of arts and sciences if that makes a difference.

Also since you're reading this, can you please reply? I have reposted this 4 times already hoping to get feedback since that's what this site is about and my posts get 20 reads and 0 replies.

Are you just “assuming” your SATs will be higher, or are you ACTIVELY STUDYING to improve? The latter is of the utmost importance.

I’m studying to improve my scores. I’ve done 10 practice tests for reading, math, and writing and it has proved beneficial. I’m hoping for a score raise but it’s not guaranteed. I’m saying if I score in the same range, say maybe a 1600 combined, would I be accepted.

If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. Also, I plan to study physical therapy or pharmacy. Basically, I’m betting that my sat scores will be the only weak aspect of my transcript. Will this totally ruin my chances at the above schools?

Assuming a 500-600 in each section…you will definitely be on the low end. It’s not a sure bet at all with that kind of score.

So your saying that even with a 3.9 gpa, multiple extracurriculars, and a rigorous curriculum, I still won’t be accepted to duquesne or pitt with a 1600? :o

Low SAT and high GPA may look like your school has grade inflation or that your classes are easy. :(

Oh okay. Thank you so much for your input. My school probably is on the easier side in some respects.
