<p>whether youre accepted or not depends on how serious those 'obstacles' are</p>

<p>Being a Questbridge Finalist doesn't really help, does it?</p>

<p>The obstacles are
-being a low income student
-commuting to school for 1.5 hours a day
and the major one
-having an abusive father who abused you and your mom when you were tow years old</p>

<p>Why wouldn't questbridge help? Pomona is one of their partner schools.</p>

<p>I'm sure if you write a personal statement that explains all those obstacles well, then they'll be more than willing to overlook certain things.</p>

Does the rest of my app look fine?
Are my chances good percetage-wise though?</p>

<p>I actually do like Pomona. I despise most liberal arts colleges but Pomona seems different. Its the only LAc on mylist and among my top 3 choices.</p>

<p>So you applied through Questbridge, meaning you'd have to be a Questbridge finalist, just like everyone else who applied through Questbridge... They're going to look at you among the pool of Questbridge applicants... No?</p>

<p>And if you didn't apply through Questbridge, why would they care that you're a Questbridge finalist.</p>

<p>I had my Qb app fowarded to Pomona for the regular round so they will still look at it.</p>

<p>Even if I didn't do this why wouldn't they care? Being a Qb finalist is still an accomplishment</p>
