Why the **** would you retake a 2320 are you that insecure?

Colleges know the tell-tale signs of insecurity, and thats one of them.

that being said, you have decent chances

Sorry for the confusion- (2320, 2400) = somewhere between 2320 and 2400. I would be perfectly content with a 2320

haha alright

Chicago- match
JHU- match
Emory- safe match
Princeton- reach
Duke- reach

Princeton and Duke, well above everage chances, but they are reaches for everyone

Thanks for the feedback

Emory might reject you. I hear they don't like being used as a safety.

how can u have a 4.2 unweighted..that doesn't make sense...It would have to be between 0.00 and 4.00 right...or is that just me

some schools give 4.3 for an A+

o wow...i guess i learn something new everyday

hmm...Valedictorian w/ 2400 SAT. You will be in everywhere except Princeton (50% chance) and Duke (75% chance). Apply ED to Princeton if it's your first choice; that will help. Many of the scholarships are used to reel in top stats applicants, so you will seem to have that covered for Emory; Chicago also has a merit scholarship that you might have a shot at.

If you can up the accomplishments in math/science you might make it into the automatic category (if there is such a thing). Some research and experience in Siemens/Intel might be an extra push to help throw you into the accepted pile at your top choices...I would look into that if I were you.

any obvious hooks?

In my eagerness to post my first few threads, I forgot a few things. For what its worth, here they are:

Part of research team at Chattanooga Heart Institute investigating the relationship between statins (lipitor, crestor, etc.) and glomerular proteinuria.
CISV Interchange to Denmark (Monthlong Student Exchange Program)

Well you've certainly done a really great job academically, but how involved are you at your school? Try to organize something at school and I'd say you're in everywhere. Of course you're already in at UChicago, JHU, and Emory.

You'll get into Emory, and with the scholarship. Many people I know that applied there have been accepted and got scholarships. They all had stats much lower than yours.

yea some kid at my school got accepted to harvard/columbia/brown and penn but got rejected from emory....go figure

I would advise against applying to Princeton ED unless you would consider majoring in math OR chem....you can't double major at Princeton (because of the intensive senior thesis).

I think your stats look really great, but I agree with some above posters that you could possibly get a little more involved at school.

I got my SAT scores this morning, but I don't think they make a difference one way or the other:

CR: 750 M: 780 WR: 800= 2330

I don't plan on retaking it.

Yea I would definitely advise against retaking them. I have a 2300 and I am definitely not retaking for a couple reasons: I probably couldn't re-create my 800 on CR, and people would kill me at my school if I retook a score that high. Your score is great! Congrats!

Research = passion; not sure if it qualifies as a hook, however. Perhaps you could integrate your interests in science and politics somehow? Initiate something. That might be a hook.
