Hey CC'ers! I just wanted to know what my chances are like for those mentioned schools. I'm applying EA to Princeton. I know they might be weak, but here are my stats:

Tell me what you think!

You’re NAtive American. You’ll get in nearly EVERYWHERE. So much so, that I’ll go ahead and say this:

Princeton EA: Low Reach
Harvard: Reach
Stanford: Low reach
Duke: High MAtch

If you break 34 on your ACT, then Duke becomes a safety.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1549053-columbia-ed-will-chance-back-within-12-hours.html

I agree with movieman, your URM status really gives you a boost.

Princeton EA: Low Reach
Harvard: Reach
Stanford: Reach
Duke: Low reach

I too agree with movieman

Princeton EA: Reach
Harvard: Reach
Stanford: Low reach
Duke: High Match

Nah more like:

Princeton EA: High Reach
Harvard: High Reach
Stanford: High Reach
Duke: Reach

You have a chance, and a URM status definitely is a hook, but your GPA and ACT score and ECs still aren’t very impressive for these kinds of schools. If I were you, I would find some matches and safeties. Again, you have a chance, but it’s just very difficult to get accepted to these top tiers.

^I agree more with Achilles09; much more realistic chances

Agree with Achilles09. Seriously, Stanford a low reach? Minority status helps, but schools have plenty of qualified URM to choose from. Add some matches and safeties.

Yes, you are an URM, but that in and of itself does not give an automatic boost. Remember that there will be other students who are Native American applying to the same schools. In assessing your candidacy, you will be compared to these students. If you don’t stand out from the competition, your chances may be less. The point I’m trying to make (to others) is that this whole notion of reach, match, etc. is pointless without knowing the context in which the student is applying.
