I did terrible my freshmen year with a 1.7 gpa with two honors, i am currently a sophmore and i am taking all c level classes, i plan on getting striaght A's this year, how high could i get my gpa for before my senior year? My dream schools are ole miss , university of alabame and UT knoxville.

In theory, you could raise to about a 3.4 with all A’s from here on out. It’s also important to get into some college prep level classes (don’t know what C level is, but guessing below college prep). A strong upward trend does help. Are you sure you don’t have a learning disability? If you don’t have a concrete reason why you did poorly first year (family problems, health issues, etc), it might be good to look into it.

The 3.4 would include senior year (first semester), which would be included on apps for regular decision.

C level classes are the most basic classes, i do have a learning disability and i was not medicated my freshmen year and I also had alot of family problems going on.

Check the websites of the schools you want to apply to. You might find that some of them don’t even look at your freshman year. Keep working hard though.

Olemiss, if your LD was not known or addressed your freshman year, you had a very good reason for underperforming. If you are now on medication and receiving whatever accomodations you need at school, you will probably have a strong upward trend. This is very good. Colleges will understand why you had a bumpy freshman year.
