I have lots of ec's but none of them are OUTSTANDING like most of the people on these boards.

Can you please give me my chances at:
Rice (I live in Houston)
NYU
Cornell
Columbia
Duke
Chicago
UPenn (just for fun)

I think you have a decent chance at all. Your GPA, ECs, and test scores are all good. The only thing that might seem as a downfall is the fact that your high school isn’t really competitive. Other than that, however, I see you getting into most of the schools you listed. I would add a couple of safeties in there though.

anyone else??

you look really strong, BUT since you’re asking about the most competitive group of schools, they may question the discrepancy between your GPA and SATs. for them the CR is low.(reading=CR)

Rice (I live in Houston)–Match to Slight Reach (closer to match)
NYU–Match
Cornell–Match
Columbia–Slight Reach
Duke–Slight Reach
Chicago–Match
UPenn (just for fun)–Match to Slight Reach (hardest to say)

thanks. also, do the sat subject tests matter that much? like my old scores were 680 for math and chemistry each. would that make or break if a certain college accepts me?

I think your new scores matter over old scores.
