Chances at Schools

Hello I am a Junior at a public school in iowa and I was wondering what colleges I should look at.

AMC 10: 96 (only halfway through algebra 2)
AMC 12: taking in like a week. (After half of Calc AB)
PSAT: 215 (enough to be at least a national merit semifinalist in Iowa)
ACT: 32 (first try after out at a party the night before till 1 am, I am taking it again)
SAT: N/A (Im taking it in the spring)
GPA weighted: 3.9
this year's AP Classes (projected scores in parentheses):
AP Calc AB (5)
algebra based physics (5)
APUSH (3-5)
next years AP Classes:
AP Calc BC
AP Chem
AP Bio/ calc based physics
AP Gov/AP Econ
EC's
4 years of marching and pep band
boy scouts (eagle scout rank with gold palm)
2 years of basketball
1 year of debate
Hyperstream (an Iowa based technology group, our club competes in a cyber defense competition every year) captain for 2 years
Started and mentored a middle school and elementary school FIRST Lego League
Began a FIRST tech challenge club and a FIRST robotics group for next year
my volunteer hours throughought these clubs that involve volunteering add up to over 200 hours

I am interested in going in to a STEM subject and was wondering what level of colleges I should attempt for and if I would have a shot at any top level colleges

You definitely have a shot at many top colleges. Being hungover (I’m assuming) and scoring a 32 is great, and your GPA seems good (although every school does it differently.) Being from Iowa is going to be a plus, especially if you live on a farm (or, conversely, are affluent.) Your EC’s seem fairly good, and you’re clearly taking rigorous courses. You could probably have a shot at some ivys, and have a good chance of getting into lots of other top schools. Some top liberal arts colleges would definitely like to see more applicants from Iowa, etc.

That’s really good to hear, would you recommend taking the ACT again or just do as well as I can on the SAT?

And I think my unweighted GPA is about a 3.6 or a 3.7

It’s up to you. Your scores seem to be so similar that it could be better solely studying for one test, or studying some for each test just to prove that you’re good at thinking in both the ways that are being tested. I think you’re definitely going to have some great options at whatever type of school you’re applying to, and will probably get some good money too depending on what schools you choose. Make sure you continue getting good grades though, as an upward trend will make you look even better.
