chances at schools

ok, so I want to get an idea about my chances at several schools.I am a rising senior and am interested in Stanford, Berkeley, U of Chicago, Rice, UNC Chapel Hill, University of Virginia, University of Southern California, U Michigan Ann Arbor, and maybe some ivy league schools...all of the public schools are out of state

SAT I: 2320 (800-CR 750-M 770-WR)

SAT II: 800-World History, 800-Math II, 800-U.S. History, 750-Physics

GPA: 3.9ish (unweighted), 5.083 (weighted where honors classes count out of 5 and ap's out of 6)

Class Rank: Currently 11/520, but it could go up or down a couple before I graduate

AP Scores: World History-5, U.S. History-5, Physics B-5, English Language-5, Music Theory-5 (4-aural, 5-nonaural)

Schedule: Took all honors classes except for mandatory p.e. class. Took 1 ap as sophomore, 4 as a junior. Scheduled for 4 ap's next year

Extras:
All-State trumpet player two years in a row(1st chair for all state jazz band as a junior)
principal trumpet in local youth symphony, high school jazz band, etc.
perfect scores on national latin exam levels I and II
member of school's top knowledge bowl team
participated in model un conferences

I know I havent done much in the way of volunteer work, but I have done enough to have some stuff to talk about. Are these schools roughly in my range, or am I at least aiming in the right area?

sirreginald:

UCB: Match (out of state)

that trumpet will matter a lot. but it seems like the only meaningful EC you've got. do you have any leadership positions? you obviously got the test scores. rank is a bit low for stanford. overall, in at all except for HYPS (maybe Yale's music program? again, that trumpet can be magical)

yeah, I know that I dont have a lot of different EC's...pretty much all my extra time was spent on music stuff, so even though it's the only real EC I have, I've invested a whole lot of time and energy into it (hopefully more than the average person who lists a musical instrument as an ec). I dont really have much in the way of meaningful leadership positions, but I'm hoping the arts stuff will make up for it somewhat. I know that my rank is pretty low, but I go to a pretty competitive high school

maybe you can send in a CD of your playing? remember they only want "professional" level supplement only

yeah, well I was planning to audition at the music departments for a couple of places when I got there (maybe to minor in music). Do you think it makes sense to send in a cd with my application anyway?
