Chances at selective schools for the not-so-typical Asian?

Soooo it's about that time of year where I have to start applying to colleges, so I'm just curious about my chances. I know I can't do much to change what I have, but I'm just interested in seeing how competitive, or uncompetitive, I am.

School: Somewhat top public school?
State: NY
Class Size: ~600 (~60 people get into top schools)
Rank: not sure, top 10% I think? (My school doesn't rank, so I can't accurately say)
GPA: 96 weighted (I know, it's low, I messed up freshman year, and school doesn't do unweighted, but I think its 91)
Race: Asian
First Generation.

SAT (superscore): 2240 - 720 CR, 770M, 750W (11 essay)
SAT (highest single sitting): 2230 - 710 CR, 770M, 750W (11 essay)
SATIIs: 700 Bio, 700 Math 1, 750 US, 740 Math 2 (retaking Math 2, I know I can do better)
ACT: 33 - 34 English, 32 Math, 32 Reading, 33 Science (took once, not planning on taking again)
AP Tests: World History 4, European History 5, AP Psychology 5, AP US History 4, AP Language 4, AP Physics 2 (LOL fail, there's a reason why I'm not planning on majoring in science)

Senior schedule: AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Literature, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP US Gov't, AP Biology
I have one of the most rigorous schedules, if that counts for something.

EC's: (putting 9-12, if I'm planning on doing it in 12 grade as well)
Taught English to little kids in a foreign country for a highly recognized organization for a summer.
I interned at an accounting firm for a summer.
Volunteered for Red Cross.
Volunteered for a non-profit organization in a foreign country.
Model Congress 9-12
School Literary/Art Magazine 9-12
School Language Publication 10-12
*I have officer positions at most of these clubs
(These are only some of my ECs, I have more, I'm just not going to list them all...)

No major awards, only small things here and there. No instruments...

Essay: I think I have a pretty unique and creative essay.
Reccs: Should be okay?

I'm planning on majoring in business.
Schools:
Cornell ILR ED
UMich
NYU Stern
BC
BU
Emory
WUSTL
Georgetown
USC
SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo
UVA
*and I know these are all high, high, high reaches, but;
Dartmouth
Duke
MIT
UPenn - Wharton

Actually, I know most of these colleges are reaches for me, but in my opinion, I only want to go to a college that I like, and not just go to any random college for the sake of going. So, thanks in advance for your input!

I don’t really see how you are an “untypical” Asian candidate. Your academics are solid, but your ECs are weak. Cornell’s state schools aren’t that hard to get into, so you’ll have a good shot there. Every non-reach school on your list seems very possible.

Hi…how’s it going…
I think you’re a pretty typical Asian candidate…
Like me…
Yippee!!!
I concur with billabongboy. I hope you get my quirky humor.

For the first section of your list: I’d say you’re in at all of them except Cornell, WUSTL, Georgetown, Emory. These might be little harder.

As for your “high reach” schools:
You look like you can make Duke and Dartmouth if you really wrote exceptional essays and had epic recommendations, so don’t fret and I guess, have fun with it. MIT and Upenn are going to be pretty hard I have to admit.

Your foreign activities are definitely going to set you apart so you can confidently apply to them. Btw, which organizations took you for your foreign service experience? I’m really interested in doing this. You can PM me or just post here.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input, sorta calmed my anxiety knowing I have some shot at going to one of my top choices for college. And for my foreign country experience, it was because I my parents knew someone who had a fairly high position within that organization and allowed me the opportunity to do that. I know, I cheated, lol.

Any other opinions? Just curious.
