I’m currently a junior in high school and have the following, 35 ACT and 3.5 UW GPA. Do I have any chances at the service academies? I have a large amount of volunteer work, AFJROTC leadership positions, along with being an Eagle Scout. I heard that if you don’t make the service academies the first time going to CC and then applying again is a good option. Is this correct?
You’re GPA is a little bit low in general, but if you have some leadership in various activities at your school, coupled with the Eagle Scout status, you should fair pretty well with the academies. Just be sure to train for the CFAs and I would definitely recommend going to the summer seminars for the academies if you are going to be a junior and not a senior.
