Chances at some pretty top-notch schools...

So, I'm looking to see what my chances might be at some of these schools, and also asking what might be some good safeties for me...you may have noticed that I don't have many.

Considering (in order of choice):
Harvard
Yale
Northeastern
Columbia
Georgetown
(mostly urban schools with a "campus" feel)

Female, white
4.0 uw, 4.32 w
10-12 gpa 4.42 w
Most likely majoring in International Relations or something similar
fluent in Spanish
Special situation: by graduation will have gone to 3 high schools in 3 countries (Spain, US[California], and Germany)

Haven't written my essays yet, but those should be good.
Recs will be awesome, my AP US teacher, for one, is seriously offering to adopt me so that I don't have to move. That really tells you what kind of things she'd write about me.

I always take the toughest classes offered, but my school(s) have never offered anything like 6 aps... they also put them at the same time to discourage things like overloading and taking them all.

SAT:
Verbal- 730
Math- 690
Writing- 720
Spanish w/ listening-690 (will retake in the fall)
US History- taken, no results yet
Math II- ditto
APs taken this past week: Spanish, US History and Calculus

7-8 grade:
Spanish 1, 2
Algebra 1, Geometry
(taken for HS credit, in a HS classroom)

Freshmen:
4.0 uw
Spanish 3, Algebra II, World Geography honors, English 1 honors, biology, drama, frosh pe
Biology and Spanish awards

Sophomore:
4.0 uw
H Chem, Concert Band, English 2 H, Humanities/psychology, Trig, video production/ graphic design, world history honors

Junior: (new school)
4.0 uw
Physic, H Am Lit, AP US History, Jazz Workshop, AP Calculus, Spanish 4 H, Drama(1st semester), T.A. (2nd)

Senior: will be in another new school

EC:
Varsity Cheerleading: 10th, team won division spirit award; 2nd place at champs
V Swim: (pre highschool), 9th
V Volleyball: 10th, team won 2nd at champs
JV Waterpolo: 11th

Flute: pre HS, 9th-12th, hope to continue in college; learning a bit about jazz flute in 11th
Drama: same; participated in drama festival for American high school students in Europe in 9th, received “Outstanding” (whatever that means), performed in Julius Caesar in 11th.

National Honor Society: 10th
California Scholarship Federation: 11th

History day: won county competition for documentary on Japanese internment in 11th, advanced to the California state competition

Also very involved in my church youth group, spend at least 5 hours a week with that

Volunteering:
2-4 hours a week tutoring in math and spanish
4 weeks spent (over 2 summers) as essentially a sort of ESL teacher

SOoooooo in sum, what are my chances, and anyone know any more safeties for me? Also bear in mind that my app will include an explanation of why my ec's are so random and I seem so uncommitted. It's actually that because i've moved so much, its hard to stay involved, especially since my schools are always very small and have limited offerings. My seemingly "jumpy" ec's should really be seen as an attempt to stay active and involved, and to meet new people when I move.

Sry a 2140 isn't going to do squawt at HYP or any of the other Ivy's you've listed, the only school that isn't an insane reach is Georgetown and obviously Northestern(which must be your safety school)

BTW you should consider UVA, Emory, University of Rochester, Carnegie Mellon, Boston College, and Boston University

You need to fix that 690 if you're supposedly fluent in Spanish. That will only test you into an intermediate level class at most schools.

The schools you listed are all pretty much reaches. Your SAT score is a bit on the low side, but I think that if you could get it to a 2200+ you would have a stronger chance. Also, consider putting some safety schools on your list.

Well, I think that you have a "chance," but I think that you should focus on your SAT's...both SAT I (specifically math) and your SAT II's...especially Spanish since you're fluent. :>)

Good luck!
