Chances at some schools? :]

Hey guys I was just wondering about some of my chances at a few possible schools. I am currently a junior and I plan on majoring in psychology and I'd really appreciate it if you guys gave me some feedback.

GPA: 3.85
SAT I: 2210
SAT II: Math II 800, Chem 740
My school is highly competitive and internationally recognized. Thankfully it doesn't rank us otherwise I think I might have gone crazy already. Also my GPA is expected to drop this year, but a lot of things came up this year which I plan on incorporating in my college essay. Like for example, both my parents are constantly ill and thus have to constantly get treatment, all the while my dad's business going bankrupt had a lot of impact.

Coursework Jr Year (All Honors):
World Literature I
US History
Analytical Calculus (Calculus BC with emphasis on theory and proof)
AP Chemistry
AP Statistics
System Support and Maintenance
Physics
Spanish 4

Coursework Sr Year (All Honors):
World Literature II
US History II
Advanced Topics in Mathematics (basically Multivar and LinearAlg with complex theory and analysis with emphasis on proof)
AP Physics C
AP Psychology
Spanish 5
Technology

I am expecting a 5 on AP calc BC, stats and if lucky chem, otherwise chem would be a 4

I expect my essays to be fantastic.
my counselor rec to be good
and one teacher rec to be great and the other ok
also I am getting an additional rec from a senator !

My School List as of now:
1. Yale
2. Stanford
3. Duke
4. Columbia
5. Northwestern
6. U Chicago
7. U Mich
8. U Ill
9. U Minn
10. UC Berkeley
11. Rutgers

I appreciate the help! Thanks guys.

Yale 5%

Stanford 10%

Duke 20%

Columbia 5%

Northwestern 40%

U Chicago 20%

U Mich 99.9%?

U Ill 90%

U Minn 100%?

UC Berkeley 10%

Rutgers never heard of it

GPA/scores are wonderful. ECs are phenomenal. I wish I was as driven as you are. Rec from a senator? State Senator or US Senator? How the heck did you manage to pull that off? Congrats

From your list -
1,2,4:who knows? strong candidate, but a crapshoot for anyone
3,5,6,7,10: highly competitive schools, but a very strong candidate
8,9,11 - accepted unless you make a grave error on the application or something.

Without a rank it’s hard to say.

Scores are low for Yale ad Stanford and iffy for Columbia. But given good EC’s, if you’re in the top 5% of you look good for the rest.

Agree with bdl108. Best of luck!

thanks for the encouraging words!
i wanted to see if i could get another outside rec from my research mentor who was a judge for the ISEF this year. i guess for now im probably looking at northwestern which is totally awesome.

anybody else have any feedback?
any sort of help is greatly appreciated. thanks again.

Hey, thanks for chancing me

ECs look good, GPA looks pretty damn good (assuming its UW), Even with a 2200 SAT, I think you should still retake it and try for even higher, I think that score is pretty average for a person applaying to Ivies. So to make yourself an even stronger applicant, I suggest raising your SAT a bit.

Yale 15% (You know…IVY…applies for everyone)

Stanford 15% (Same)

Duke 30%

Columbia 15%

Northwestern 50%

U Chicago 30%

U Mich 90%?

U Ill 99%

U Minn 100%?

UC Berkeley 25% OOS right?

Rutgers 1000000% lol.

i was thinking about retaking the SATs as well, but im not much of a test taker and even that score was incredibly lucky for me, but ill study over summer and see how that turns out.

and it is OOS for berkeley. thanks for the feedback
