A couple questions. First, my school schedules AP classes weird, which resulted in me having a LOT of APs in my senior year. Should I not apple ED to Stanford because I won't have grades for all those classes in at that point? Will only having 2 Jr. Year APs hurt me in this regard? Second, my ECs are kinda generic, besides the stock photography buisness. Will colleges find that interesting, or should I still look for something more unique?

Any other colleges I should look at?

Thanks!

I like your chances at all of those colleges. You shouldn't be too worried about the AP/Honors situation, the fact that you are ranked 1st shows that you are capable of handling any coursework YOUR school throws at you. Yes, your ECs are "generic," but it looks like you've shown a lot of commitment in them. I never liked the idea of Early Decision. I think you're better off applying RD for Stanford, because you might want to see other financial aid offers. You should look more into this, but with your statistics, you'd have a good shot to be a candidate for a Regent's Scholarship to Cal-Berkeley, which is full-tuition, priority course enrollment, and guaranteed four years of housing (big deal for over-crowded UCs). You mentioned Claremont McKenna, how about Pomona (does it not have your major)?

By the way, you need to submit your IIC score if you want to apply to Berkeley so take that as soon as possible in the fall. Best of Luck,

TTG

Doesn't stanford have single choice early action? If so, it's not binding, so if accepted, you can wait till may before you have to make a decision, so you'll be able to compare fin aid and everything, so don't let that deter you...

Thanks for the help!

Hey! Another Colorado-person...hello :)

What newspaper do you work for?

Ralston Valley. We won best-in-show for 4A, but can't compete with those 5A schools. Where are you from?
