Bump Thanks :)

If your HS keeps records of previous classes' application/admission results (such as Naviance software), use that as a guideline. Remember, at certain colleges (not GT), the admission criteria and selectivity vary by program so the overall results may be misleading (eg, if an audition is required, in-state vs OOS selectivity, URM status, athlete, etc.).

If your HS does not provide you with that data, you can look at other HSs which have put this on-line and is available to anyone. For example, these sites do not require a password to access them:

https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=episcopal

https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=wootton

https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=ciba

https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=hcrhs

https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=centralcatholic

https://connection.naviance.com/fc/signin.php?hsid=gbn

If you poke around in one of these, you'll find a scatterdiagram of GPA vs SAT and for each applicant over the last 5 years whether they were accepted, waitlisted, or accepted at each college (not just GT).

Enter as Guest,

college lookup,

type in Georgia Institute of Technology/color, click [color=red]Go,

click on GRAPH

You can print these and keep them in a binder.

Also realize that GPA varies from HS to HS, some are weighted some are not, some are 4.0 scale, some are 5.0, etc. But this gives you a good idea how to form a list of reaches, matches, and safeties.

There are more Naviance HS sites in the post below, just note that a Password (which is also listed there) is required.

Ferst, do you have any opinion on me?

My stats were similar to yours...minus the ROTC bit...you may want to look into ROTC scholarships, they're worth it. You seem to have a good chance to get in. Dont worry, my SAT's were lower, but I think my gpa was a bit higher. Fill out a recruitment paper for hockey if you're interested in playing, alot of times that can push you through. And our hockey team seems pretty legit :)

Yeah your ice hockey team is pretty tight, but I'm not that awesome. Don't get me wrong, I'm fairly skilled, but I'm not prepared to play on a college level division I ice hockey team. Also, this region has some of the best teams in the country.
