Chances at the School of Nursing and Health Studies, please?

<p>Hey, ( read: I suck at spelling)</p>

<p>I am an Iraqi male, from Northern VA ( 30 min from GU), who will probably be applying to GU NHS EA; Planning on majoring in International Health, w/ premed concentration</p>

<p>gpa: 3.85 ish uw, will have 8 APs, 5 honors classes ( junior, had 3 APs, and 1 honors) by the time I graduate.
- in the top 10 % of graduating class of competitive public school ( sends many kids to top 30 schools regualarly)</p>

<p>Sat 1: 1960 ( will retake tommorow)- 630 math ( lol, didnt have calc, spent too much time on problems), 660 verbal. </p>

<p>sat2's: Math 1- 600 ( didnt have calc)- will this kill me, and is it worth retaking?
bio- 670</p>

<p>EC's:President, math honor society
-President, Studetns against drunk driving
-VP of radio club
-NHS
-Volunteer work at a hospital, >200 hours
-Senior Math team
-Presidetn, HOSA( health occupation student association)
-Coached a CYA basketball team
-Also was on jv lacrosse for two years, was cut from varsity), won scholar athlete award both years, and also had the " hardest working player" award- yet i sitll got cut lol
-Will attend NYLF forum on medicine at GU</p>

<p>For my essay ( the NHS one), I will write about how my first day volunteering at the hospital changed my " idealized view" of doctors, impelling me to concentrate on medicine.</p>

<p>wow you almost sound like a mini-me.... haha I went to NYLF-medicine at georgetown two years ago and that was what got me hooked ! haha I got in as an international health major this year and I'm doing pre-med as well... as for advice, I would try to bump your sat scores and take more science-y sat2s I think NHS pays more attention to sat2 scores because my sat score wasnt too great but my sat bio and chem made up for it i think... good luck!</p>

<p>Didnt improve my SAT score ( college board f'd up, I will let GU know)</p>

<p>will retake SAT 1 in october, and take 2 more SAT 2's in november</p>

<p>Also- I will change my essay to the time my bro broke his arm in Amman Jordan, and how that all went down.....</p>

<p>( also, i hav never taken physics,so should I go ahead with AP french, as i am planning to -even though i doubt i can get better than a B- or switch to french 4 and do honors physics instead of regular physics)</p>
