Chances at the U

Chances to Oregon:

GPA: 2.44
SAT: 1240/1600
EC's: Sports, baseball, football, gym, and coaching basketball for CYO 4th grade
OOS for both
Class Rank is 40 percentile, just below 50 percentile

Did you write a good essay explaining why your GPA was below 3.0? That is quite important.

I wrote a pretty good personal statement, we did it for school and was well edited, got a 56/60. For the special circumstances, I explained how moving right before Frosh year affected me. Went throguh a light form of depression, eating disorder. I really like Oregon and hoefully can find a way paying for the school if I got in without giving up an arm and a leg.

Sorry that I haven't responded sooner.

Have you heard if you got in? My son, an out of state student got in with a 2.9 and a 1210 out of 1600 on the SATs. I am sure his letter was what helped.

oregon has a high acceptance rate dad. But still a great school as well. I applying with a a 3.1 gpa and a 1000 Sat (Poor, I know)

Really, you already got in with a 2.9 GPA? I thought they put all the applicants with GPAs under 3.0 t oreview in March. I have to wait till then, even if I get in it may be hard to afford the school, we'll see, I may end up going to Chico State.

Oregon is a great school AWM. I would defentily wait.

Oregon will probably accept you... although an essay thats depressing is not the best way to convince counselors, but as long as it is meaningful and explanatory.
Definitely worth it.
Plus, most of the time you'll get more financial aid if you apply later... my experience.

awm, i live in chico, don't pass that up, chico state is so incredibly awesome. i go there right now as a hs senior - it's amazing. im sure you've been there already though...
