Hi, I know there are a lot of "ifs" hear because my extra currics depends on what the schools need that year, but any info would be appreciated.

Junior, white male.
GPA as of beginning of junior year- UW 3.82, W 3.9 (we don't weight all honors courses.) After junior year, my UW will prob go down a little, but my W should stay around the same.
PSAT 143 (63R 80M 61W)
16th ranked school in nation, does not rank
I have lot of courses, will graduate with around 10 AP's.

CELLO
playing since 4th grade, trying to found TRI M society in school, principal cellist in what has been called the nations best youth orchestra (had color picture in NY times), principal cellist at allstate(NY), principal cellist at NYSSSA summer program, won numerous scholarships, masterclasses/lessons with many famous musicians, I have my own students that I teach.

I forgot to mention some things...

I will plan on being a music major at any of those colleges

SatII- Chem 730 (9th grade)
Math I- 720(10th grade)
that my youth orchestra plays at Carnegie Hall 3 times a year, I've played there almost 10 times now.

your PSAT is actually a 204. You add up all three sections.

nice with the AP music theory... that test is hard.

errr... you have good shots at all. but obviously, few guarantees. McGill admits mostly on scores, so you should be OK there.

any ideas?

u goto half hollow hills?

no, im not dave macleese. I go to cold spring harbor

I will agree with you that your school is ranked 16th in the nation. However, your school is ranked 16th in the nation by dividing the # of AP/IB test taken by the # of students that attend. Merely, your school does not have to be smart, it just has to be able to afford all those AP/IB tests.

The cello activities will help you a lot, especially if you want to be a music major. What are you interested in studing in college? This one cellist I played with in Honor Orchestra got into Yale, pursuing both music and psychology. He was an amazing musician and on top of that he was the valedictorian of his graduating class. So in my opinion, you could probably get into a good college through the cello, but study something else at the same time.

Cello and economics, and I'm hoping to integrate the two later on in the job world. This summer I'm hoping to intern at the Kennedy Center which kind of shows that I'm on that path. I'm trying to show colleges I know what I want to do in life, that I've made my plan. As for baklava, the way my school is ranked may seem sketchy for lack of a better word, but its the only legitimate highschool ranking system out there, and Newsweek would not give a completely bogus statistic, so you have to consider it valid. The exact number is not important, but the fact is, my school is up there.
