Colleges:Geneseo (EOP), Oswego, Oneonta, Plattsburgh

oh and im a minority from nyc if that even helps. =)

Geneseo i dont think so. but considering your applying for EOP than maybe only if you’re a minority, low income, and modest SAT’s. Oswego i think you could get in, Oneonta maybe, and Plattsburgh yeah. you got good ec’s though.

ok thanks. anyone else?

Plattsburgh, Oswego–very good chance
Oneonta–good chance
Geneseo–highly unlikely. Your H.S. rigor wasn’t very rigorous-LOL No Pre-Calc and/or Calculus.

You’ll still have plenty of options. Good luck.

lol. thanks. but thats why im applying through EOP =/ i hope i get to oswego though =)

You’re too qualified to apply thorough EOP. You will get a letter saying that they are moving you to the regular pile of applications. EOP is reserved for students with a low family income background, 80ish or less GPA, few or no ECs and SAT scores under 1000. The fact that you are a minority does not matter for EOP admission.

No offense, but you if you’re applying EOP to one school, you should be applying through it at all schools. Don’t cheat the system.

However, Geneseo has an AOP program for minorities. This is what you wanna look at. You will get in under this program because it is specifically suited for minorities no matter how good your stats are. My friend got in through this program and declined because Geneseo makes all the AOP students attend a month long seminar in the summer where you learn about college and take summer courses. He didn’t want to goto Geneseo enough for sacrifice a month of summer.

oh ok. i thought you could only apply through eop to individual schools. =/ but it doesnt matter I’ll settle with oswego or oneonta. i really don’t care about the prestige as long as i get into medical school. thanks for your answer.

Math A + Math B = 3 years of math, not 4.

As a prospective science major, you might want to consider adding another math class to your senior year schedule.

yeah i know i was thinking of taking pre-calc. or computer math. =/. im really not a math person and im actually thinking of majoring in english instead.

Even though you’re not into math, another year may make your transcript stronger. Honestly though, I wouldn’t take it if you KNOW you’ll be getting mediocre grades. If you think you can manage at least low Bs, go for it! Four years of a subject isn’t always necessary. I only took three years of science(regents), and I didn’t have a problem with my transcript.

If you’re not interested in math, what about another year of Spanish?

well… I’ll just take another year of math. i finished spanish since i took the regents (90…woohoo!).
