Hi, I'm transferring for Fall 2012 from the University of West Florida. I'm thinking about applying to these schools:

Maryland, GA Tech, VTech, Bama, Georgia, Pittsburgh, UConn.

but I'm just a little nervous and I'd like to see what my chances are. My grades aren't horrible but they aren't earth-moving either. I have a 3.39 cumulative with 58 credit hrs and 14 more on the way after this semester. I was originally gunning for Biology (so Botany and Gen Chem are practically useless now), but now I'm a Computer Science major. I also took STEM classes right out of the gates instead of initially signing up for all of the GenEd classes.

I've taken two honors courses, one which I got a C in (Great Books) and the other which I got an A- in. As you can tell, I'm not on Honors anymore. I also had to withdraw from my Calculus II course last semester even though I sailed through Cal I with a 4.0. I'm retaking it this semester and I'm doing much better. My real worry though is my C+ in University Physics 1 taken at the same time as Cal II. While I could've put in more effort, my prof was very new to teaching and was not only inexperienced but inattentive. That said, my other STEM grades besides those classes are good, mostly A's with some B's. This semester I am taking Java and Algorithms and Program Design (essentially C programming) in addition to English II and Calculus II as I mentioned earlier and I've hit the ground running with all of them so my final transcript should show a much more positive result come May.

As far as extracurriculars, I don't have loads of them but I am involved in the Competitive Programming Team, the South Asian Student Association, the A.I. Research Group and I was involved with the UWF Honor Society. I also happen to be a damn good writer so the transfer essay won't be a problem (I ace pretty much every essay I write).

Can you tell me if my chances are good and I'm on the money or if I'm aiming too low or too high? Thanks.
