<p>Impressive app, but you seriously need to bump that SAT score up to 2100ish. It would help your app A LOT.</p>

<p>Long list does not offset bad SAT score. Also you seem to have taken every activity your school offers, too much can be a bad thing. You’re in everywhere except UPenn, Brown, Barnard, Boston College and NYU. Those are high reaches.</p>

<p>Though it might look it, I have not participated in EVERY activity. It is a detailed resume. I have only been involved in/founded clubs and activities that are important to me. Other than, they involve community service and activities that i have participated in for national honor society.</p>

<p>I think what the above people are criticizing your resume on is not that you necessarily participated in every activity offered, but that you certainly tried out many different activities without committing to most of them for many years. Whether this is a flaw that <em>should</em> prevent you from admission to top schools, it is something that <em>could</em> prevent your admission. </p>

<p>When you fill out the Common Application and many similar applications, they ask for 10 activities, max, to be listed in order of importance to you. While you can add a supplemental resume, a refined list of 10 activities that you’ve shown interest in for 2 or more years looks better than 10 fundraisers for 10 causes (that I’m sure did lots of good!) that took less than a year’s time. It’s just a lot to comprehend and if the college is unfamiliar with a program, a lot to research (which they probably don’t do a lot of).</p>

<p>When it comes to Ivy admissions, I agree that your SAT score is a bit of a weakness, and your GPA could be as well. At UPenn, 87% had h.s. GPA of 3.75+ and 75% of students had an SAT of 2030+. </p>

<p>I think that you should consider refining your college choices with a little more research, so that you can concentrate on your favorite schools. Do you want insanely competitive classmates who could challenge you and/or occasionally make you feel insecure (UPenn, Brown), a co-op program where you could gain real world experience and job opportunities (Drexel, Northeastern), a campus that is truly a part of the city (NYU), or a college town that revolves around campus life (Penn State).</p>

<p>Chances are, you haven’t had the opportunity to visit all of these schools, so you should look into virtual tours, YouTube videos conducted by outside organizations, and even admissions brochures (which should be scrutinized with utmost skepticism). The college’s website is your best source of information.</p>

<p>…It seems to me that you really just looked through the college rankings and picked out some schools that seemed nice (and close to home?). But have you looked into them enough? Have you taken the SAT Subject Tests that are required for some of these schools? Have you thought about whether a rural location versus an urban one makes a difference to you? Do you think you have what it takes to brave a Syracuse winter? What school is your safety (financially plausible and where you have better grades/SATs than 75% of the student body)?</p>

<p>Did you apply to all 14 of those schools already? Have you heard back from any of them yet?</p>

<p>Hey there are a lot of pros for you… I think the fact that you’re First generation, a urm and have at least an A GPA will help you. Did you take the ACT? because right now your gpa is too low for any of the top 10 in my opinion… but if you’re going to be recruited that’s different. Also, is your senior year course load difficult? Will your grades look good? Because an upward shift from a 3.6 will definitely give you an edge. Realistically, I think that you have a good chance at Syracuse, Penn State and Northeastern (I don’t know of the rest). Unless your essay is amazing, I don’t know about Brown… seems like a very high reach to me. Good luck anyway!!
