Obviously I know grades are a small chunk in a large application but how did these turn out do you think?

You have a nice and challenging course load with a few B’s… by the looks of it, your GPA is somewhere around a 3.8-3.9 on a 4.0 scale?
I think you’re doing great grade-wise. Obviously it’s not perfect, but if you have something else that will help you in the selection process, then I think your grades are fine.

This is meaningless information. You grades are pretty average and in the same range as the bottom 60% of applicants to top schools. No one else can give you any further information without SAT, SAT II, and AP scores.

Something you COULD tell us is what phenomenal extra-curriculars you are in that would warrant admission, what awards you have won, etc.

Orangemellow, why don’t you read his/her entire post then state your comment? The person has CLEARLY said and I quote, “Obviously I know grades are a small chunk in a large application but how did these turn out do you think?”

And now to get back to you, your GPA seems around 3.8-3.9 which is greatt. But remember, many top tier schools have those kinda applicants, it seems like your grades, however, are falling. So they’ll see a downward sloping curve, which is not good. Try to bring them up to all A’s in your senior year so it doesn’t seem like that. Goodluck!

His title clearly states “Chances at top tier school- Grades?”

Although he stipulated that his post referred only to grades, I pointed out that grades, on their own, are so statistically meaningless that it is pointless to ask for someone to “Chance” him. In addition, if you had thoroughly read my post, you would’ve seen that I nevertheless did address his question of grades, stating that his grades are, and I quote, “pretty average” and fall in the “bottom 60% of applicants to top schools.”
