Chances At Transfering To Ivy's?

I am currently a junior at Miami University, and a member of the Farmer School of Business. I am wondering what my chances are of transfering to an elite school for my senior year.

Miami University

I have a 3.9 (UW) College GPA

Farmer School of Business (Top 20 Business School)

A 2150 SAT Score

Good EC's (Many Clubs)

Good Reccomendations from well respected professors

The problem is that my high school GPA was a 2.2 (UW). I am not sure if colleges even check what your HS Gpa was, but will it be a problem? Im a Junior right now so I have been removed from High School for a few years.

I am going to try to transfer to Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, UPenn, Stanford, Columbia, Amherst, MIT, U Chicago, UC Berkley, CIT, Williams College.

If those are too ambitious, what are the top of my range schools I could transfer to?

I want to go to an elite graduate school, and I have the grades to do so, but a diploma from Miami University I am afraid might greatly affect my chances.

I am wondering if those are to ambitious, or I would have a chance at any of them? I have worked very hard in college to turn myself around, but am wondering if my HS performance would hinder my chances.

I’m not sure those schools take senior transfers. But they could accept you and make you start as a junior. As for chances, I’d say you have a chance. They don’t really look at your high school GPA once you get 60+ credits.

OP, you need to go to the college websites and read their transfer policies.

@Matisyahu, that is what I am thinking. I am taking the 2nd semester off to try and transfer.

@entomom, I have read the transfer policies. They all say the same thing, they don’t give much real info on the subject. I am just wondering if people think I have a chance at getting into any of those schools. Or where they think I should apply!

OK, I predict that you have no Chance of being admitted to:

Looks like real info to me ;). I’d go on, but that’s your job.

If you’re in a business school now, why would you want to transfer to schools that don’t have undergraduate business programs? Some of the ones on your list don’t. Even if one did let you in, you’d need to change majors. And you’d need to meet other degree requirements, possibly including arts and humanities, lab science, and another language. Liberal arts programs tend to be harder than business degrees, so your GPA could suffer.
