chances at uchicago

<p>what are my chances at uchicago?
science:
biology accelerated
chemistry accelerated
ap biology
ap physics B</p>

<p>math:
geometry honors
algebra 2 honors
precalculus honors
ap calculus bc</p>

<p>history:
world history
ap european history
ap us history
ap government</p>

<p>english:
freshman english accelerated
sophomore english accelerated
ap english and composition
ap english and literature</p>

<p>foreign language:
french 2 accelerated
french 3 accelerated
french 4 accelerated
ap french 5</p>

<p>electives include computer and art classes</p>

<p>asian at a rich white suburb :|
four years of swimming and water polo, varsity in senior year (both are in the top 3 in state)
community service + work + 3 clubs, consistent 4 years
psat, sat, satII and are no problem but there is almost as much Bs as As
but, the high school is ranked as one of top 80 in the u.s and there is absolutely no curves, no inflations, and hw doesn't count for grades and it is very difficult to get As.</p>

<p>all criticisms and suggestions are welcome, especially suggestions of other schools, but please don't be mean :)</p>

This, I think, will be the weak point in your app. Chicago tends to be fairly grades-conscious (after all, what's high school compared to the Chicago workload?!?), although there have been exceptions. If your high school is familiar to admissions, I don't think it will hurt your chances as much. </p>

<p>U Chicago, as you probably know, puts a great deal of stock in their essays. If your essay shows the sort of quirky intellectual curiosity UofC fosters, you have a good chance at getting in.</p>
