<p>It’s out of a 4.0 scale, but I have a lot of classes that are honors credit.
At my school, an A in an AP or IB class will get you an additional .2 towards your GPA, and B will get you an additional .1 or something around there.
I have 9 periods my senior year so I can get a higher GPA

<p>You know, I believe the UC’s will recalculate that GPA to put it in a standard system (in which regulars are worth 4 points and A, ap’s worth 5 points an A). Otherwise, everyone would have such high GPA’s.</p>

but I don’t know how accurate that is…

<p>im in a similar situation regarding sat scores-kind of except my sat score is a2130. This applies to me as well, but to you also. Im not trying to be rude, but GENUINELY honest, especially considering your an Asian candidate at schools. You have an extremely low chance at stanford, brown, cornell, yale. In fact, unless you have some sort of mind blowing essays, you wont get in with that SAT score. Im not well-informed about UC schools, though im sure you will get into a few of those! As for hopkins and NU, im not entirely sure, but those are kinda reaches. Honestly, though, your SAT score HAS To be your biggest priority, without a higher score, schools will question your GPA (grade inflation) and top schools WILL NOT accept you. so try hard and good luck!</p>
<p>kbbm24:: I know that the Ivy League’s are a stretch for me, so my priorities are the UC’s.
I’m not expecting to get into the Ivy Leagues at all, actually >.<

<p>shrinkrap:: I’ve never used a UC GPA calculator, so I might have done something wrong.
My school never explained to us the process the UC’s go through to calculate GPA. All I know is that the weighted GPA(10-12) on my transcript is 4.78
what are considered low and high ‘UC GPA’s’?</p>
<p>I think anything above 4.0 is “high”, but “high” is not enough to feel safe about UCLA or Cal.Also, I don’t think a UC GPA can be more than 4.4, maybe because of the “capping”. For a UC, less than 3.6 is probably "low’; but a 3.0 gets you in somewhere!</p>
