please chance me for Berkeley, LA
is it safe to call UCSD and UCI safeties?
thanks! [sorry it's sorta long!]

**will delete this post after I get reply(ies) because I feel 'vulnerable' and non-confidential :)

also...
about class ranking, do UCs look at 10-11 rank or 9-11 rank?

Haha, I have like the same stats as you and I'm applying to the same schools...

Ummm, UCs do not look at class rank btw.

I'd say you're set for UCI and UCSD, and that you have a good chance at LA/Berk .

haha thanks.

anyone else ? this thread is lonely :(

BUMPbumpbump

UCs look at class rank for ELC

Welcome to ELC

You look like a strong student...write compelling essays!

Take a look at these scattergrams from Arcadia HS Chinese Parents...leave it to competitive Asians to post this stuff ;)...but it's interesting.
AHS c/o 2007

Are those UC weighted grades. Really interesting, a 1900 and a 3.5 is safe at SB?

I think you have a great shot at all....look into UC Davis - it's awesome!

[/quote]

Regarding the scattergrams?...yeah, I don't know because it doesn't state...but I seriously doubt they would have calculated each students weighted GPA for this purpose...

@ mr183-
so they only use class rank for ELC? but not for actual admission?

@everyone else-
thanks!

You're in for UCSD and UCI and you have an excellent shot at UCLA/Cal

i just realized that you can't edit posts after a certain period of time - -x
[ignore what i wrote in the first post about deleting that post]

thanks everyone! (I feel more confident,hehe :))

I know this deviates from the colleges of the original discussion, but do you think I stand a chance at stanford? [ehh. dream school and planning to apply to try my "luck"]

bump 10char.

Look at the same scattergrams of that CA HS. It is extremely telling. That school got punked at all the top colleges. Every Stanford admit had a 2300 plus SAT. UCs are your clearest shot by far. It seems Berkeley is almost as respected in CA yet it's eons easier to get into.

In all honesty, both SAT and rank are too low for S.

UCs (at least Berkeley) do not look at high school class rank in admissions.

Berkeley - match
UCLA - match
UCSD - not a safety, but a safe match (80%+ chance)
UCI - safety

do you think it's safe to call UCD a safety, then?

bump!

Yes, UCD would definitely be a safety.

last bump? heh

i heard that 40% of UCLA is asian- is that right?
