Chances at UCSB?

What kind of ECs did you have? I have very similar numbers (1310, 3.89), and UCSB is my very first choice. I'm even seriously considering SBCC if I don't get in.

My major ECs are listed in my first post....

Keep bringin the insight!! I'm lovin' it!

sorry, I was directing my question at Giants8307 since we both had 1310s and very very close GPAs (3.8 vs 3.89) and he (she?) got rejected.

A couple things: I didn't have very good SAT II's, as I didn't really want to go to a UC. I just didn't put in the effort(I think they were, 600,570,480). As far as EC's, I played two sports and had 80 hours comm. service hours, including a leadership position within my youth group. I'm pretty sure the SAT II's were what nailed me. I'm a guy, btw. :)

you're totally in. as long as you're not asian. anyone that says your not in doesnt know what theyre talking about. (prepare to die from alcohol comsumption and drug abuse...)

Don't forget it's also Harvard Westlake. I would be very surprised if the OP didn't get in. UCSB isn't that hard to get into.

Like I posted before, 1300 SAT would be enough to get you in.

Regarding alcohol consumption, drugs, and parties everyday...complete myth! Reason being is that, of all UC campuses ,it's only UCSB that has a student community right by the campus so a lot of happening and party during weekends. For being the only UC campus that has great social scene is where the party reputation is coming from. If you come here to party every night , you're in for disappointment. Ther's nothing going on Sunday- Wed, few on Thurday nite since some students have classes on fridays. My friend who transferred here from Univ. of Texas Austin said that this not even half as crazy in partying as it is at U of T.

While IV is indeed where the parties are (under 21), mostly Frosh and Soph go there. Exception is during Halloween...biggest party with 150 police on patrol. Guess where the people come from? Friends of students that go to different schools that yearn to experience the real college life.

Well i'm really glad that most of you think i'll get in :)
