What are my chances of getting into UGA Regular Decision and Early Action? I know EA applicants are only looked at in three categories; Course Load, GPA, & SAT/ACT Scores.

Gender: Male

Ethnicity: Black

GPA: 3.453

Courses: All honors classes for 4 years. I also took 9/16 AP courses offered at my school. My school has a 7 class schedule, and students can't take AP Classes until their sophomore year.

APs: AP Statistics, AP English Language, AP Psycology, AP Environmental Science, AP English Literatire, AP Spanish, AP Microeconomics, AP Government & Politics, & AP Art History

As a black male, you should not want to attend university of Georgia. This university offers a hostile environment for blacks. I know, because I for one attended there. The university made little effort to get black applicants, and thus there were few black students on campus, little activity by black organizations, etc. Additionally, racist attitudes from non-black populations there were considerable. If I were you, I would take my talents elswhere.

birthofthecool: I am not sure of when you attended or your experience at UGA, but your statements do not match the current situation at the University. From the interaction with targeted HS’s, programs such as GA Daze and PSLSAMP, the pre-college programs that are offered, the recent hire of Victor Wilson as Ex. VP for Student Affairs, etc., there are a wealth of options at UGA for African-American students. As for numbers, the Fact Book shows over 2,700 African-American students on campus, which is larger than either Spelman’s or Morehouse’s enrollment. While UGA’s history has not always been strong with respect to African-Americans, today’s UGA is a much different place than in the past.

Clinton1996, you look like you have challenged yourself, and have some real strengths, so I suggest applying, and see what happens.

birthofcontrol couldn’t be any more wrong. UGA’s homecoming king and queen were both African American last year. Your scores are very good, but your GPA is iffy

You will DEFINITELY get in UGA especially since you’re black, and part of a minority. But I would recommend Georgia Tech or somewhere better, UGA should be a safety school for you. (:

What birthofthecool is saying is partially true. The population of black students are very little. Although the school is majority white, it does try to make an effort to make the campus diverse. There are a lot of clubs and programs that you can easily get involved in!
You will definitely get in with your statistics and your AP classes. Go ahead and apply for Early Admission! Good luck!
