I am getting a little nervous with the deadlines for the college applications approaching, I have put down some basics on my acads and am wondering what my chances are to UM Ann Arbor, Purdue, Urbana and UC Santa Barbara. I am looking to do engineering with a major possibly in Aero or Mech. I am aware that there are no definite answers but was looking for some markers in the general direction/probability of admission.

Our course does not leave much scope for serious extra-curricular activities in the junior and senior years.* Not looking for financial aid
You would not get any financial aid as an international student from these schools anyway.
You have a decent chance at Purdue. UMich would be a reach as your score is below admission average and you are from a foreign country.
UIUC chance would depend on your major. The overall engineering admission stat is very similar to UMich, however, they have a stronger bias for in state student than UMich. In other words, it may be even harder for OOS and international students to get into UIUC than UMich.
Pupscotch: Hi! I have applied to a few reach and safety colleges.
Reaches being – UMich A Arbor, UIUC, GaTech, UCBerkeley, UCLA, NUS Singapore and NTU Singapore.
The safety being – UC Santa Barbara, Davis, Santa Cruz, McGill and VTech
How about you?
Just had the Georgia Tech interview yesterday which they are holding for all freshman applicants.
Ok so the SAT Subject scores were rather pitiful. Overall score: 2090. Math: 760, Chemistry: 760 and Physics 670. Retaking the SAT Subject for Physics and Math on 7th Nov.
The Major I have applied for across all these colleges are either Aero or Mech depending on which they offer.
Tooka a second chance at SAT Subjects and still missed…got a score of 2240- Math 760, Chemistry 760 and Physics 720. Waiting for the unlikely acceptance decisions from UMich, GaTech and Urbana EA into CoE. Have hopes in UC Davis and possibly UC SB. International student.
I think I’ll wait till March end before taking a call so that i have all the acceptances and rejections in by then. Would like to visit the campuses as well before the decision.
Does anyone know if international students get a postal mail if they are accepted or just like Purdue we are sent emails of acceptance but no post or acceptance package?
