I have a 3.95 GPA and have 44 credit hours from Lansing Community College. My understanding from their Transfer Tuesdays presentation is that because of the quantity of credit hours I’ve earned, my highschool GPA and ACT score become insignificant.
Midway into a semester, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal colon cancer, and he received treatment at UMich. Being 21, the weight of this impacted me dramatically, and I withdrew from a class that I later retook. It appears as a W, was well within the withdrawal period, and despite not being obliged to do so, I was refunded due to the extraordinary circumstance.
The semester after that, my father tragically passed away, and I missed the semester. This was last semester, and I felt the need to help my mom move and to provide her support after my father’s passing. However, with her being acclimated to the new house, I am anxious to transfer into Michigan.
Given my unfortunate circumstances, what are my chances of being admitted? If relevant, my field of study will be computer science in LSA, learning computer programming.
Thanks in advance, sorry for the verb tense shifts and potentially wonky wording, hard to proofread on my phone.
