Thanks for any feedback. Also, where do you think would be a fit for me if UF is out of reach. I know my GPA isn’t the greatest but I’ve taken many rigorous courses (AP Psychology, AP US History, AP English, AP Literature, AP Stats, AP Government, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra, Honors Religion for two years, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, and Honors Marine Biology) and have done a lot of extracurriculars. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and thank you for your time
ACT range is 30-34, so you are at 25th percentile. You are well below the 25th percentile for GPA (but HS may vary) for GPA. You may want to look at SEC schools like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, etc. or other Florida schools if you are a Florida resident.
Depends what state you’re from. If you’re from Cali, Chicago, Boston, NYC city and suburbs, or just any popular area…there’s a lot of competition. But if you’re from somewhere like Nevada, Oregon, etc., you have a pretty decent chance. Michigan wants representation from all 50 states.
I have to disagree with @guitar321 , virtually no one is admitted with a 3.2 unless they are a recruited athlete, child of a major donor, or have some other exceptional ability. The latest CDS has 1.2% of students admitted in the 3.00-3.24 GPA range. That is only about 150 out of 55,000 applicants.
Here’s what I think: we’re just random people who have legitimately no idea as to who will be admitted into what college. Therefore, apply, try your hardest, write essays that show who you are, and hope for the best. Whatever happens happens—but, in all honesty, it’s no one’s place to affirm or discourage you, because we have no idea.
