Chances at upenn?

Hi, I was wondering if I have any shot at an ivy league school, preferably Penn.
I have a 4.0, I'm ranked 5th in my class, taking all honors/APs that are available.
SAT: 690 cr, 770 math, 770 writing, ACT: 32.
SAT II: 780 math 1, 730 us history, 710 biology E.
ECs, I'm in boy scouts, soon to be eagle, which accounts for a lot of my service/leadership. I play the violin and sing, and I'm involved in musical theater at my school. I played soccer for two years.
I have a part time job, and I'm involved with my schools key club, math club, Spanish club etc. I've also done some volunteering here and there.
Thanks, just let me know. don't hold back on your opinions :)

I’m not sure if they actually look at AP scores, but I got a 5 on euro from soph year and the three from jr year are still pending…

Are you applying to Wharton? If so, your chance is very small. If not, you have a decent (though still not great) chance. As for AP scores, they do look at them, but they are not a significant factor in admissions; they are more for providing context to your grades.

Wharton is probably out of the cards. But if you apply for biology, or engineering you might have a chance. But I don’t know why you’d go for engineering at UPENN.

I’d apply for what they call Jerom FIsher Dual Degree (engineering school & Wharton)
then you get to list a second school to be reevaluated at if rejected

Play up the Eagle Scout on your app and any other ‘unique’ aspects of you
I talked to an admission counselor there last week and he really stressed that they
want unique students who are passionate about their field of study
so also play up how much your intended major means to you

oh & that goes for pretty much all the Ivies i do believe

Alright thanks for your posts. I’ll probably retake one of the tests and try for a few officer positions. Then apply and hope that my essays/recs pull through for me. ;)

You need more unique ECs

do NOT apply for a dual degree program, seriously, they accept like 50 students worldwide a year, my major mistake in applying to Penn was applying to Huntsman, If you think Wharton is a large stretch, dual degree is near impossible, sorry but just what I learned AFTER applying…

I agree with astonmartinDBS. Your extracurriculars are quite bland. Although, I suppose there’s not much you can do about it at this point. Plus, you don’t want to be a member of the class of Pen’15, do you?

I kind of whipped that post out really fast. I don’t have exceedingly amazing ECs but it’s certainly better than what I posted. I probably should have posted everything and talked more about each.
