EC: Speech and Debate (parli event captain for leadership), got 7th out of over 350 entries in Parliamentary Debate at California state tournament including going 9-0 in league debate. Won first place at Stanford National Invitational for International Extemporaneous Speaking, and debated in the Oxford Union. Traveled a LOT. Went on student ambassador programs when younger to: UK, Ireland, France, and Italy. Summer of 2013 did study programme at Oxford University studying Speech/Debate and Politics/Economics. Received grades of A* and A respectively, and gained good hooks to write about in terms of international insight (i.e. debating about Egyptian democracy the very day Morsi was overthrown with students from Cairo, and talking about Brazilian riots with friends from São Paulo). Jazz band all 4 years including moving up to 1st chair Tenor Saxophone. Golf all 4 years, JV team Frosh and Soph year then moved up to Varsity fro Junior and Senior year. Self-Studied 2 AP gov courses junior year receiving 5's on both.

ANY HELP?

Thanks!

Another EC I didn’t mention, started and am president of club called PACE (politics and current events) at my school. I am asking the teacher moderator who likes me and we talk about politics all the time to write my letter of rec. Also, I went on trip in 2014 with school to China where we studied china all year long then went there and did service work whilst learning about the country. We taught English to migrant worker children and planted trees in the desert.

You have a decent application. However, keep in mind these two bits of information about British schools:

 1. From what I’ve heard, AP scores are very, very important–far more than SATs. Seriously, I wouldn’t stress out about your SAT too much. Anyway, you seem to have a fair amount of APs, so hopefully you should be alright.

Don’t underestimate KCL. It is not an easy school to get into (from what I’ve heard through the grapevine). I’d consider it more difficult to get into that Georgetown and the like. Then again, I’m no expert, so take my word with a grain of salt. :)
