Oh, and I'm majoring in Business
Applying to
Northwestern, Dartmouth, UPENN, Columbia, Berkeley, USC,...and some safeties.

Maybe I could apply to Stanford?

Hmm…seems pretty solid!

I’m not really sure what the UPENN summer program is, but it seems like it would be a nice addition to have if you are interested in going there.

The only weaknesses I could probably spot were maybe the fact you could have taken a bit more APs? Anyways, your resume looks good.

Great chances at USC, Berkeley. I don’t know much about the other schools but you have a good chance at all of them all. And I would definitely apply to Stanford if I were you…

And I love the fact that you made a business. Very charitable and also amazing on your app.

Best of luck.

Dartmouth, Stanford and Columbia don’t offer business majors. They are still great for working in business.

Great shot at all.

@Spiffy: Oops, I made an error. I didn’t go to the UPENN young scholar program, I went to the UPENN summer high school program which is for students all across the nation, not only limited to local students. It accepted 275/600 students so it wasn’t necessarily a “pay through” program. Thanks :)

@Redroses: Hehe, maybe I should have been more clear. I’m interested in majoring in something related to business. I’m not certain yet. But thanks :)

Redroses giving a “great shot at all”?
Wow.

Yes, every now and then a non delusional student wonders onto the boards:)

You’d be strong candidate for Berkeley! I would encourage you to apply.

^Thank you. I most certainly will…

:)

wait, redroses, my EC’s, in my opinion are better than the OP, but my scores are lower? You told me that even if I increased my scores, my chances wouldnt be better than average. Is there any reason for this?

kbbm, the OP is a URM, and you, my dear, are an ORM. Different pools, different analysis.

kbbm, why do you want the approval of redroses so bad? She is not going to be the one dealing with your college applications so I really don’t see the need of going into my thread telling me that your ECs are better than mine.

If you want to get into a good college you might want to tweak your personality. :)

solid chances, ECs could be stronger for ivies. make sure those essays are good

One last bump :)

Umm you’re a hispanic in-state for berkeley and usc. Idk why everybody is saying “good shot” you’re basically in. And if everything else on your app is true you have really good chances at top 10 schools also.

Just one of my notes in my ongoing campaign to let people know USC is not a UC…

BlizzaP, “instate” is not a factor at USC because USC is a private university not affiliated with the UC system. (And, because I’m being nit-picky this morning  , hispanic isn’t a factor at Berkeley becasue the UCs are barred by state law - Proposition 209, 1996 - from considering race in admissions decisions. At USC hispanic *will *be a positive factor in admissions because, as mentioned above, USC is not a UC!)

k youre not getting in then

Don’t blame the OP for my nit-picky-ness!
