Chances at UT Austin

I just want to know the chances I have for getting into UT Austin as an economics or business major. I want to know which one I should put as 1st choice major. Right now I have it as economics because Mccombs is difficult to get into, but should I put Business as my first choice? I’m really dead set on UT Austin because I love the campus and the urban environment and because of my rank I feel like I have a chance, but I feel like my sat and act are the things bringing me down and It’s too late to take them again.

I’m currently an OOS student from CT, and this is my first year at UT. I’m an economics major in the Liberal Arts Honors program.
I had 3.7 uw and a 31 ACT (my extracurriculars and essays made up for the numbers, however).

I do think you would definitely have a strong chance for Economics. Are you IS or OOS? From what I’ve seen in my classes, the majority of Business/BHP students are in state, due to the difficulty of admission.

I would suggest applying to Business first, and then the college of liberal arts. This is because pretty much all schools besides COLA will not take you unless you put them first. (This is at least true for the honors programs).

Hope this helps.
