Chances at Wash U STL and question: Does it hurt/help chances to live in STL

I want to go to Wash U in St. Louis and am applying for the Summer Scholars program there this summer. Does it help or hurt my chances of admission since I live in St. Louis??

My Stats:

Rank: 1/400ish
GPA: 4.0 unweighted...not sure weighted

Go to non competitive public high school which sucks. We can't take AP classes until junior year, and even then just one: AP US History. So far, I've had Hon Geometry Fresh. year, Hon Adv. Algebra Soph year, Hon. Precalc, Hon. Spanish III, and Hon. AP US History this year. Next year I want to load up my schedule with AP/hon. classes.

75 hours volunteering at Lion's Eye Bank

I am a junior and just took the ACT yesterday...I consistently score a 29-30 on the "official practice tests"

I also expect to hold offices in this organizations next year.

Other schools I want to apply to:

Cornell
U. of Illinois - Urbana
University of Missouri - Rolla
MIT (whats the use?? ha)

Um...any other schools I should consider???

I want to go into math/engineering...not sure yet

Um bump? lol

Being from STL will not hurt, there are plenty of local kids at Wash U.
ACT (SAT) will make a big difference, try to get it into 31-32 range to fell safe. With 29-30 you are still in range (having high ranking/gpa), but it is on the lower side.

just curious, where do u go to schl in stl?

I go to school in North County~Spanish Lake

So anyway, BUMP!
