A low match rating is a near-safety

I wonder if having 38 college credits on record qualifies for transfer application at Binghamton

@Catria, I was told it would be a reach by my guidance councilor when I had an 86 GPA/1820 SAT score. Bing’s GPA average is 91-96 which is why I’m hoping pulling up my SAT scores fill in the gap.

I’ve never heard of a high school student applying as a transfer, and almost everyone in my school has at least a few credits, although only a few have more than myself.

Bing has been my goal/reach for as long as I can remember, but if it does turn out to be a low match school for me, do you have any other recommendations? The only other school I’ve ever really considered was Cornell,(my brother and sister go to Cornell) but with my low GPA / less extra-ciriculars / no SAT 2’s, I gave up on it a pretty long time ago. Is there a medium between the two that I have a chance at? Basically I’m asking what a good “new” reach school would be?

Edit: @hellogloria, I never took any SAT subject tests, and I believe it’s "Binghamton, without the P. I used to put the P until I googled it. Who knows… maybe I’m still doing it wrong?

Yeah I’m pretty mad. I thought senior year would factor in, but it doesn’t. It’s an 86.5 which is about a 3.2 I believe.

Aiming for 700/700 and applying regular decision with a 3.2 GPA. In the mean time… it’s going to take a LOT of studying to hit 7’s. Thanks for the responses.

A 3.2 is an 80 on a 100 point scale. Which is significantly below the 25th percentile (91) at Binghamton. 86.5 is a 3.46, still well below the 25th percentile. Based on the admissions chance generator you’re in the 37th percentile of those attending or accepted last year (that’s with 3.46 gpa and 2100 SAT).
