I know I haven't won any big awards or participated in any well-known summer programs, but I've done the best I can with what I have and what is within my capabilities. Thanks for any advice!

As a legacy applying early with those grades you should have a great chance. Math+verbal 1400 or above is important. Take 3 SAT II’s and try to do well so you can use the 3 SAT II option if they are better. Are you into art enough that you would submit some of your work? Good luck!

What Hitch said.

Near perfect grades + Vermont resident + legacy = very, very good chance

But I could conceivably see you getting deferred given the somewhat low SAT’s (I’d definitely consider studying hard to get a 700 in each section or just sending the subject tests if you do well on them, which I’m sure a student like you could) as well as the relatively modest EC’s. Some solid stuff on there, to be sure, but that was just my snap impression.

My gut is that you will get in. Wish you the best of luck.

You need: either 2100+ SAT1s, or 3 700+ SAT2s or ACT>30 with a good score on the writing part to have a good chance, so take those practice tests! Everything else is good.

Thanks to all of you! I am going to concentrate all my time and effort until March on improving my SAT score. I will definitely try to get a 2100 - I have taken two practice tests at this point with over 700 on writing and 700 on reading both times. Hopefully those will go up by March. Then ACT in April! Thanks for the input.

Virtual class will be a semester-long German language and culture class. Just sent in the papers today.
