Chances ED at Old Nassau

GPA (Given for each year; not cumulative)

Frosh: 3.0 (I realize this isn’t technically “considered” but they’ll still see it on the transcript, and that is obviously worrisome.)

Sophomore: 3.7

Junior 4.0 (w/ 3 AP courses, although that doesnt seem to be a lot, it would be considered "most rigorous" at my school.)

Senior: Planning on 4 AP courses, in addition to regular course load.

SATs: 750CR 690M 720W (I’ll be taking these again in Oct.)

SAT IIs: 790 US History, Plan to take Lit and World

APs: 5 US History, 5 AP Lang & Comp., 5 Macroeconomics, 5 Microeconomics
Hence, AP Scholar w/ Honors

Major ECs:

Founding Editor-in-Chief of Political Review, a monthly political magazine at school.

Founding President of Political Forum, a bipartisan political debate forum.

Working down on Capitol Hill this summer

Student Gov. Rep for all 4 years

Member of Youth Advisory Committee to County Executive

Staff Writer all 4 Years for School Paper.

Xtian Service Trip to Alaska, taught Native children computer skills

Harvard Summer School last summer

These are essentially the ECs that I’ll frame in my app. There are more, but I figure for the purposes of a chances thread, they’re not relevant. Ideally, I’ll be applying ED, as the Woodrow Wilson School is what I would love to end up majoring in. What are my chances?

30% at best, not being a legacy or a recruited athlete.

Work on those SATs and write great essays. It's really your class rank that is more revealing than your GPA...don't think I saw that in your post.

Who knows. Look at the old ED board and see how we all did...it really is a crapshoot. Your numbers and other accomplishments will make you competitive, but you certainly aren't an auto-admit.
